In June, we traveled to beautiful Orvieto, Italy to capture Amanda + Patrick’s amazing destination wedding at beautiful La Badia! The town of Orvieto was the ultimate charming Umbrian village, with medieval walls, old stone passages covered in ivy, incredible views of the countryside and some of the best pasta we’ve ever eaten! The night before the wedding, Amanda + Patrick invited their family, friends and vendors to join them for a White Party at the beautiful hotel – complete with charming Italian musicians, a gelato cart, Italian string lights, pizza and dancing galore. The pouring buckets of rain couldn’t have added any more intimacy to the night if it tried – it made the atmosphere SO cozy as everyone moved inside the stone buildings and arches for dinner and singing, speeches and laughter. I remember looking around as the entire crowd of guests, all wearing white, crowded inside this little stone room as the musicians led everyone through the most rousing rendition of “That’s Amore” I’ve ever heard – I’ve never seen such pure happiness, joy and love as was present in that little room! I still get chills thinking about it, and one of my favorite photos from the entire weekend is below (Amanda + Patrick laughing as the little Italian accordionist laughs in the corner of the frame!).
