A few weeks back we drove up about 5 1/2 hours north to Lake Placid, NY and Whiteface Mountain for a weekend of snow, snowboarding, cozy fires, hot tubbing and delicious eats! We rented a cabin via Airbnb with our good friends Julie + Shane and enjoyed every single minute of our relaxing weekend off 🙂 Ironically, we went north in search of snow and that was the weekend that Philly got 3 feet of snow!! Getting home was a liiiiittle more interesting, or should I say – getting into our driveway with 36 inches of snow on it! We absolutely loved this charming Olympic village – it really feels like you’re in the mountains out west, rather than only a few hours from us in PA. The views at the first summit of Whiteface are amazing! We got the most beautiful light snowfall our second morning! Oliver loved every minute of it 🙂If you go to Lake Placid – three must visit spots are the ADX Cafe, Big Mountain Deli & Creperie for crepes and coffee drinks, and Maggie’s Pub at Lake Placid Lodge! They are all so cozy and have absolutely delicious food.
