Such an honor to have Lauren + Brendan’s lifestyle engagement session in NYC / Long Island featured on Style Me Pretty today! The best part was what Lauren wrote in the feature, though…the feeling is SO mutual!! 😉 We can’t wait for these two and their Hudson Valley barn wedding this September!

“From the Bride-to-be… The very first wedding-related decision we made was that we absolutely had to have Lauren Fair Photography shoot our wedding. One of the major criterion that our venue had to have was an opening that matched with Lauren and Tim Fair’s available dates. We looked at venues in NYC, Philadelphia, Mexico, and finally decided on Shadow Lawn in The Hudson Valley region of New York. The quaint and rustic venue was perfect for us and we couldn’t have been more excited to learn that it worked out with our photographer’s schedule as well.

We weren’t interested in engagement photos at first, but decided to have them done since Lauren and Tim include them in all of their packages. They explained to us that it helps them get to know each couple before the big day and allows the couple to gain some experience with “acting naturally” while being photographed. We were super excited to meet them, so we happily took their advice, and couldn’t be happier that we did. We had so much fun during the shoot and can’t stop gushing over the photos. As an added bonus, Lauren and I discovered that we have a lot of similarities including our names, our love for our dogs (both named Oliver) and our style (which came in handy when I realized I forgot a belt and Lauren gave me the one she was wearing!)

We began the shoot in our apartment in Long Island City, with our beloved pup Ollie, and then headed across the street to Gantry Park, which spans about 3/4 mile and abuts the East River, with spectacular Manhattan views. Our favorite photos were underneath the gantries themselves. Next we headed up to the rooftop of a 32 story high rise for some of the best views of Manhattan right at sunset.  Needless to say, we cannot wait to have the opportunity to work with Lauren and Tim again for our wedding in September.
