French Riviera Travel Guide + Photo Journal

February 15, 2020

We spent the month of July in France capturing beautiful weddings + shoots throughout the Riviera, Normandy and Provence! I wanted to share a few favorite film shots from July along the beautiful coastline of France. It’s a magical destination full of amazing food, stunningly beautiful towns and villas, boats and sunsets every night, and charm in every single corner.

We have been to France so many times but this was our first time visiting a few of these smaller towns, and enjoying an extended visit to the Riviera!

Where to Fly to:

We flew from Paris to Nice, France and it was the perfect airport to use as a home base for the French Riviera. We’d recommend staying in a smaller town rather than Nice itself for more charm! Nonstop flights from Paris are so easy, inexpensive and quick.

Where to Stay:

We based ourselves just outside of Nice in the charming town of Mougins. We had never even heard of Mougins before booking at the charming Hotel de Mougins, but it was the most beautiful hilltop town with a charming square, ivy and flowers everywhere, and some of the prettiest restaurants in the area. We stayed at two different hotels here: Hotel de Mougins and Le Manoir de L’Etang and I’d stay at either again in a heartbeat! Both charming, beautiful properties with pools + olive trees galore and delicious breakfast on the patio.

Where to Visit:

Our itinerary of the French Riviera included heading both south and north of Nice!
